Terms of Service
Last updated 28 July 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Gitmayo (the “Service”), operated by Gitmayo (“we,” “us”). By connecting your GitHub account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.
The Service
Gitmayo connects to your GitHub account and produces a weekly, plain-English summary of your activity for the repositories you select. It reads activity metadata — commit messages, pull-request and issue titles, and timestamps — not the contents of your source code.
Your account
You sign in with GitHub and are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your GitHub credentials secure. You may connect one or more GitHub accounts; you are responsible for each account you connect.
Repository access and authorisation
By connecting an account and selecting repositories, you authorise us to access the activity metadata needed to generate your summaries. You represent that you have the right to grant this access for every repository you include, including any private or organisation-owned repositories.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service to break the law or to violate GitHub's terms.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service.
- Do not use the Service to access or process data you are not permitted to access.
AI-generated summaries
Summaries are produced by an AI model from your activity metadata. While Gitmayo is designed to be honest and to avoid overstating impact, summaries may contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing a summary before relying on or sharing it — especially in an investor, board, or other high-stakes context.
Intellectual property
You retain all rights to your GitHub data and to the summaries generated for you. We retain all rights to the Gitmayo software, brand, and website. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it except to provide the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.
Plans and billing
A free plan is currently available. Some features are labelled “Pro.” Paid plans and billing may be introduced in future; if they are, the applicable pricing and terms will be shown to you before you are charged, and you may choose whether to upgrade.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (including GitHub, Supabase, Anthropic, Resend, and Vercel). Your use of those services through Gitmayo is also subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that summaries will be accurate or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gitmayo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, or for any decision made in reliance on a summary. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £50.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms or of any third party's rights.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us, other users, or third parties.
Changes
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in these Terms removes any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
